SocalStangs vs Stangpede: You Got Hated!

Hey all!
There's been a lot of interest in the startup of our new L.A./Orange County, CA. chapter. That chapter will be officially opened on March 15th, and we will be having a meet/display on that day. It will be hosted by Stangpede's newest corporate partner, Raceline Wheels(www.racelinewheels.com), and other sponsors like TruFiber and NOS Energy Drinks will be there as well with their products. Hardcore Mustangs will be there to represent as well. Raceline Wheels has come out with a new line of custom colored and designed wheels not offered by any other manufacturer. We will be displaying our cars, and welcome everybody to come join us this day! Come see Mickey's Barricade Saleen in person! Bring out your cars and show the public what you've got! We welcome all Mustang owners. For those interested in joining Stangpede's newest chapter, this is the perfect time!

From what I hear, almost all of the main guys from the SD chapter recently quit. Thats probably why they are trying to "expand". I have heard great things about the guys in Stangpede, but horrible things about the president and owner of HCM. He has screwed one too many people.

I also know some of the things he has done to customer's cars, like JB welding the rear brake lines into the calipers bc the fittings were stripped. I even contacted the guy a few months back and let him know. He should have sued his ass.

Sounds about right. He claims how STANGPEDE is sponsored by all these companies, but his cars are the only ones that are hooked up. I really dont care about that though, I was there for a paycheck, not to be in a club, which I never was a part of. Like I said, the members are good guys, and its a shame that they are being used by Ernie.

You forgot to mention the time when you drained the oil from a customers car, put in the drain plug, put on the filter and started the motor and drove the car out of the shop. Oh yeah, I left out one important part.........you forgot to put in any oil before starting it!!!:rofl2:

As far as the sponsors go, yes he does have them, and he hook up peoples' cars. All of them can be seen on the website. He's done several. Have you seen Mickey's Barricade car? Seen any of the cars with the Blow By Racing body kits? There are several others, but he's not stupid enough to just hook up people who come around looking for free stuff! Many people look for the freebies without any contributions on their part. My car was just set up with a full header back Mac exhaust system, Saleen big brake kit, and 4 new high perf. Dunlop tires, all at no cost.
As far as members quitting, there have been 2 that were recently let go from the club, Austin and Anthony, but they didn't quit. You need to be at least some what truthful if you're going to post up. You have posted pure BS and lies, not to mention libeled and slandered him with your claims of shoddy work. Not to worry though, you haven't got a pot to piss in!
His cars were done with total sponsor money, with the parts and paints being free. His 1999 Cobra was paid off in 2002, 1 year after the club was started. All monies that are paid for membership are accounted for to the penny, which documentation is available for any members who wish to see. They are also controlled by the club treasurer, who is not at all related to Ernie.

I merely asked a question about something I had heard....in fact I mentioned that it was in deed something I had heard (not experienced) and used the word "allegedly." What is wrong with asking for some clarity and confirmation if it is true from someone who use to be involved?

As to what I have heard, I have heard many things from many people...none of it good (other than from yourself); as many people on here have as well. But unlike many people on here I have heard the complaints directly from the people whom Ernie has ALLEGEDLY fucked over...so I was asking for clarification from someone who represented himself as an insider; which I think this club is entitled to the truth (whatever that may be) and if it warrants a warning about someone/organization that is posting on our boards than I think it all the more appropriate to give a heads up to my fellow club members so that the same does not happen to them. Now that is not to say that it would, but again I ask what is the harm in asking?

Mustang Club of America has membership fees, so does BCMC, and many others. I've been involved in car clubs since the early 80's, and unless they are the small kind that meet at Mc Donalds and cruise the malls, or go hang out in parking lots after meeting at Denny's, most legitimate ones have fees.
If you're talking about Stangpedes' CT chapter, you are totally incorrect. The chapter is new, about 6 weeks old, and is growing. So are our New York and New Jersey chapters.
I have nothing against any other clubs, or people who aren't interested in ours. That's cool. I do have issues with people such as Black_Knight spewing BS and lies about others, without having any facts at all. Or without admitting their own wrong doings until after being outed.

yes old members and companies that have dealt with him directly and not just from some random of the company, it was either someone who directly deals with outside companies or the owner of the company themselves, and not just some new start up companies either, but well established ones that have been around a while and would have no reason to make things up, but whatever we'll just leave it at that, I was asking for info about the members' accusations.

as for my PM, I was originally asking about your personal sponsors and did not know that your latest hookups were from HCM until I read youre post in this thread about that. When you responded with that HCM deals in Whipple I only asked about price because I was/am curious about going rates on the thing so I can be informed as to pricing when I do buy one if I do. Im sorry if it sounded like I was asking for one from HCM. You are very right about not dealing with someone that I have heard so many bad things about, and I would always proceed with great caution before and if I were to do any business with such a company. But that does not mean that people shouldnt be aware of what they are getting into, gotta weigh the good with the bad.

Scott this club is pretty well known, what morons are you talking to? the same ones that put lambo doors on their car? Ive even run into random people on the street or at a gas station and theyve heard of this club, this one and mcsd are the two clubs people are always asking me about when I meet someone new with a mustang. no one outside the online mustang community knows about stangpede and those that do dont have a very good opinion of them, at least not anyone who has encountered them personally. this club does so many things, more so than any other club Ive ever seen or hung with. Just because we dont charge to do the events or host a giant boring show where everyeone is eager to show up but more eager to leave doesnt mean we arent legit. We do fun stuff and everyone is welcome but we seldom advertise it to others because we like who is here and that is good enough for a good time. This club was featured in (help me out guys was it:) MM&FF (or 5.0) when it was still a fledgling club and recently was asked to be featured on WebridesTV...WITHOUT SOLICITING THEM. Stangpede's coverage has been because they have sought it; which is fine, but Im just making my point that we dont need to. I dont even know why I felt like explaining it since we dont have to and dont give a shit what anyone else thinks. The reason Stangpede and HCM becomes such a heated topic on here all the time is because we look out for one another (no matter how much shit we give each other) and when so much bad things are said about a company its only fair to share, Caveat emptor. If things have changed over there than great, time will show that and good luck to you all.

As for my PM it was about youre sponsors as you had made a post on MMM and you were the one that brought up HCM and then I responded with an inquiry about price, but again I wasnt saying I intended to buy from them, was curious as to what prices everyone is selling these things at. Here is my PM:

We don't have any club officers, and we don't have monthly dues. We also have zero interest in expanding beyond Southern California (hence the name). This club was started for the people that don't want to be told what they can and can't do at club functions. No one here wants to be "President" or "Vice President".

Hey guys, I know this thread is lost and going no where so I figure why not throw my 2 cents in. As you can see, I don't post much here, but with good reason. I have never met you guys nor have you met me, yet, there is a hatred due to the fact that I represent HCM. I think what you guys have is great. You are all a local family/club. If someone needs help with installing a part, you guys are there. If someone wants to cruise, you guys are there. If someone wants to relax and drink some beer, you guys are there. No doubt that is what it is all about, I totally think that shit is cool as hell.

Of course there are differences between SCS and Stangpede. You guys are local and do what I listed above which is awesome. Stangpede tries to do what you guys do while reaching out to other opportunities with other things. One thing I felt compelled to clear up are the dues. Guys, seriously the dues are for a reason, I promise you this. Ernie does not see the money, it goes directly from the members to Oscar, one of our members who uses these dues to enter us in car shows, make us t-shirts, pay for banners, stickers, food, etc...everything you can imagine so money isn't an issue at our events.

The club you guys have now is what it is. Most likely, you guys won't expand and you guys will continue to be a tight-knit family, which is great. Stangpede just offers a little more, which is not for some obviously. The reason I decided to post is because I feel that there shouldn't be shit talking between the both of us. Honestly, I would love to meet some of you guys and chill on the weekends. After all, I love cars so fuck the rest, right? This isn't a peace treaty because I am well aware some of you will never live off your dying hatred for Ernie or HCM. What I want is for you guys not to shrug your shoulders when you see a Stangpede banner. I want it to be where we see each other and talk cars. We should be banning up against the damn imports invading the US.

At the OC Show - it took 4 hours and 45 mins - a record breaker...

Parts from the body as I recall were pre-painted, but I've watched the full-length vids for this event...

Topnotch-we get beat? lol most people here dont enter in every single show there is and the few that do take home trophies at MUSTANG shows not import tuner shows where there are only a small handful of stangs and so the odds of getting a trophy are great. We also dont go around bragging about our club so perhaps thats why u think we get beat all the time. as for media coverage we get plenty. there have been plenty of members cars here that have been asked and have been featured in big mustang magazines at SEMA, races and many other venues and we dont seek out any of it. Sometimes it gets turned down if we dont feel it fits with what we want to do. For instance I was asked by the director of FF4 if I wanted my car in the movie, after seeing all the rice Im glad I decided not to have my car associated with what I view as a negative aspect of the car community. and about the money for being in a movie, you should look into that more cuz its very little; grant it its for doing nothing but its still not going to make anyone rich by having their car in a movie.

and we all have kits and cars that look like everything else? well obviously you dont know anything about this club or its members and their cars, but I guess thats apparent by the whopping single post. but either way a shit load of identical good looking cars is way better than being the one fugly ass ricer in the bunch.

holy fuck, I dont know u but just based on your two posts I can say your retarded and dont know wtf you are talking about. try looking around on this site and you will notice that there are plenty of best in show cars here, several track monsters, and magazine featured cars. New cars being added to Stangpede arent what people are talking about and dont count in the trophy count if they got the trophy before Stangpede. Stangpede has forever been known as ALL bodykit and vert doors on mostly V6 Mustangs so I think that latter part counts as NO GO!

LA Show? dont know why Im bothering to respond since you dont even know which LA show so you cant be taken seriously as an authority on the subject but assuming you are talking about the big one...the queen marry than the few SCS members that did decide to show did take home trophies. In fact I think almost all of us did, we just dont announce what club we are in with lame loud chants when members win, we leave that shit for the import guys at HIN.

And 11 trophies out of the more than 100 that they give out isnt a lot. Especially when the rest of the trophies are evenly dispersed between mostly BCMC, LAMC, SDMC, and oh yeah SCS.

Someone pointed me in the direction of this thread and out of morbid curiosity read through it.

A couple of notes if I may be so bold and my SCS brethren will tolerate my ramblings.

1, SCS has been around longer than even my club (LAMC) and I have always said that as far as I am concerned, they are our brothers in the south. I have yet to meet a more hilarious, knowledgeable and helping bunch of knuckleheads and I think they a good representation of what a club should be.

2, I personally have no beef with Stangpede other than one matter and I wouldn't even bring it up if not for the fact that their members boast about how many trophies they win.

LAMC did their own show last year at which 3 of Stangpedes cars were in attendance. Tallying that show and being a vote counter at 3 of the other larger shows in the area (Queen Mary, Sunset Ford and Mustangs in the Park) confirmed my suspicions.
It is easy to win trophies when you basically show up to a car show with 30+ people and basically steamroll the competition.
Not to be righteous, but I make it a point to remind our members (LAMC) that a car show is not about getting our friends trophies. It is to check out what people are doing to their cars and meet up, but if all you care about are the trophies, that negates the entire idea of a fair and friendly competition and you will be disapointed.

Before the Citrus show I straight out told our members that if all they want is trophies then I would rather buy them a trophy and don't bother showing up instead of us just voting for each others cars. I think in the final tally of trophies taken there was a very clean disbursement of trophies (The first and as far as I know) the only 1st place for Scottie for the season.

Stangpede is not my cup o tea, but even so, I made it a point to go up to Ernie and introduce myself at MIP last year and honestly it seemed he was more involved with snapping pics of the group and their newly aquired trophies than to take a minute. Oh well. No skin off my nose.

Personally the way they promote is a bit aggressive and misleaeding IMHO and some of the videos floating on youtube are definately not to their benefit. I don't know what they were thinking with that drifting vid in front of HCM, heads would roll at LAMC if anyone pulled a dangerous stunt like that.
