I just wanted share a bit with ya'll - because somehow I got dragged into this today with TWO anonymous emails calling me "a fag and a coward", which came as a shock to me because I've done nothing to anyone here.

I want to make sure that at least when it comes to myself, that there is no issue between us. I'd like to see this whole issue go away and let it be.

I kinda just distanced myself from it. The several times I've chatted with Ernie, he's seemed like a decent guy.

That being said, he kept trying to recruit me for his club, and one of the first comments he made to me when I set up a cruise was, "Stay away from SCS; they make comments all the time that they can get our girls and stuff like that." After I attended the BBQ at Santee Lakes, I see most of the people here are just regular Joes like myself and have their own wife/gf/significant other (I know there's at least one of you that has a thing for Titan, so hey, you can't be out after girls! :laugh2:), and most of the things that you guys say are just the typical guy bullshitting, with no harm/no foul meant.

I like SCS because I don't have to spend TONS of time that I don't have for the club (I work most weekends and nights, and have the gf on the homefront bitching because work prevents me from seeing her as much as I would like), have "emergency meetings", or am expected to show at each and every car show in SoCal. I would rather just be part of a bunch of people who want to go out for a cruise, hang out, BS, kick back, and have a good time, which SCS seems to do. If you're all about the show scene, you like lambo doors, radically different (and expensive) paint jobs, and owning trailer queens, then maybe Stangpede is the right place for you.

I'd rather try to be diplomatic and civil about this, because I have friends/acquaintances that are also friends of Ernie's, and don't want to put them in a position to choose sides. It's just easier for me to say, "Glad you had a good time at the car show you went to with Stangpede - did you see any classic Mustangs at the show?" and leave it at that.

I'm sorry to hear that rrobello got hassled - for the most part, everyone I've met within the Mustang community has been very positive about owning a Mustang or sharing their tales that they've got about things they've done or want to do. I don't understand why Stangpede feels the need to publicly threaten people and sully their reputation within the Mustang community, but what's done is done.

1)while i do see your point we are not discussing rape or murder, and im sure that basically this is a huge misunderstanding. extremes do make clearer points in a debate, or discussion, no murder nor rape was comitted today, specifics do. and while i in no way condone anything that happened today or the events that led to todays event, i think it is very unfair to judge this way. if i may use an example maybe a little less extreme, the new england patriots were found to be cheating, but it wasnt the players it was the front office, does that make the players guilty of cheating, not really.

I think it'd be better for you guys if we competed for trophies. You guys are more show, we are more go. I'm not sure some of your immature members could take getting their asses handed to them on the track. I think the bigger you guys get, the greater chances of letting in some bad apples. Quality over quantity would prevent any further 10 on 3 "misunderstandings".

Our club/forum has no mandatory meetings, or strict guidelines, rules etc. If you're a cool person, come around etc, you can be part of Scs. I as well as others here don't have time for presidents, captains or any other type of ridiculous titles. Most of us have jobs and careers where real titles make us real money . We don't recruit ANYONE. We aren't running some sort of race, to see who has the most members. This is just a group of guys who like to get a good laugh online, toss back a few beers once in a while together etc. No dues, fees or other bullshit. We certainly have never threatened anyone from other clubs. That's all that needs to be said about us here.

i agree with you, and while im in 5 clubs my time is just as limited, but my involvment with stangpede is a little deeper in that i try to provide an angle on car clubs that many so rarely get to see. i do what i can when i can. what i think i was trying to say (only my opinion) is that something got out of hand, and just because the general makes a bad decision, you dont blame the soldiers. i personally like the concept of being a team, teams have leaders, teams have uniforms, teams stick together, and not only work for the good of the team, but the sport in which they compete. this might be easier to say this way, (since im from l.a.) if joe torre makes a bad pitching change, people dont blame the 1st basemen, or the guy who sat on the bench all night....make sense?

personally it doesnt concern me, as someone who is finding his way in the mustang scene in general, it does, we should all be bragging about whos car is faster than whose, and how someone just smoked an acura on the 101 or 5 depending on your location, or who went to the track and how they did, or showed and got something for thier efforts...thats all im saying.

i harbor no ill will and have no preconcieved notiions about anyone here. i just hope we can all see past this and make something good and productive out of it.

as for knotts i had a great time today, saw some of the sickest mustangs, i have ever seen, saw absolutely fabulous old fairlanes , galaxies, comets, and t birds, and some specialty ones like marauders, mavericks, probes, sunbeams, pintos, (disco ball?), torinos, cougars, and even xr4ti's...missed the trucks tho...too big couldnt see it all.....had a good time, and at the next show, any of you scs guys feel free to come say hello to me, it would be nice to meet you guys...im small and non threatening.:arnold:

I see now that its senseless for me to try & build a show mustang, there is no way I could even come close to 75% of the SWEET ASS Stangs out there. I've also never seen so many Stangs in 1 place & I've been to FFF every year but 1 since 1999.

I am in a car club "SVTOA San Diego" and we are a club that's all about driving our cars.. we do charge fees but they go towards event, Cruises, Rallies, stuff of that nature.. You don't even have to have a SVT to be in the club, just have a love for the car..

So Ive read this thread from start to end and I figured I wanted to post my response to things. Needless to say, what happened was definitely uncalled for. Being a new member of Stangpede, I figured I would post my thoughts. My car doesnt have lambo doors, does not have mystichrome paint on it, and is definitely not a v6. Not that anyone gives a shit, just thought I would point out that not all of us have cars like that. I do, however, understand where you guys are coming from...guilty by association. Unfortunately I didnt have the oppurtunity to meet some of you guys yesterday..I was too busy getting sunburned as a motherfucker. Some of you seem real cool and have some BITCHIN cars. I have no animosity towards you guys or anything like that. What happened was definitely out of line, and doesnt give us a good name at all. To the guys who were confronted, I want to apologize for what happened. If there was tension between 2 parties, it should have been handled in a completely different manner and should have been squashed without going the way it did. Its really shitty that all this has blown up the way it has. I just recently bought my car and havent had a chance to do a whole lot to it yet, and I just want to get involved. This is all supposed to be about us enjoying spending endless amounts of money on parts, long nights in the garage fixing shit we broke, and having fun going on cruises together. This isnt supposed to be about whose club has more members, whose car has more money into it, whose paint cant change amounts of colors more, whose doors open more vertically than other, whose car has more hp, etc etc. This is supposed to be about us getting together, having some beers, talking about stupid shit, and doing it all over again the next time. I hope that if I run into you guys out on the town, you dont look at me like a piece of shit because of who I hang out with. I want to meet some of you, bullshit a little bit, and appreciate the shit each of us have done to our cars. I'm pretty sure you didn't see me...All I know is that I saw rrobello's car but there wasn't anyone around it (at least, not that I recognized, but then I kind of have a swiss cheese memory when it comes to matching faces & names).

Kinda wish I'd been able to intro the gf to some of the owners of the cars, have her realize that being a part of the Mustang community is FUN, but c'est la vie. Guess it'll have to wait for the next time there's a cruise/bbq/get together. :)

I know its not the same as rape or murder but again extremes help make the point loud and clear. yours on the surface to be a little more grey but it isnt. whether or not they knew they were cheating they were and suffered the consequences as a team, as ur club is now doing for one groups actions. and if they didnt know about the cheating, when they found out one would expect a decent person to then be wary of it in the future and speak out if they saw anything of the sort happen again; if not than its very easy to lump them in with the cheaters in the main office.

and there was no misunderstanding at all here. After it happened I learned from a friend who was speaking to Liz at the time (and I was also just standing next to her just a minute prior to this event, and I had past Ernie and made eye contact with him several times that day prior to this as well and not once did either of them say anything until he grouped a number of guys together) and she had told him that they had planned this, she knew about it before it happened. She even told Shaun that Ernie needed to "talk" to me before it happened. so it was quit deliberate and no confusion on this end, he wanted a fight and came looking for one because some of his members previously came onto this site and shit talking resulted and he didnt like that.

I have been going onto other forums to squash elaborations of the story and tell exactly what did happen. Im not looking to further escalate this into a big brawl by any means. Ernie does come off as a nice, quiet guy that would never do this; this is what I thought when I first met him, but with time his true colors have shown, yesterday was a good example of that. He also likes to sit back and let others do his dirty work to keep his hands clean, hence the reason for 8 other guys. Several original members of his club have left because of it, several people have had issues with his business (HCM), sadly it looks like things havent changed and if ur not careful you might experience it as well.

and it was between just two groups since it was contained to just this forum prior to yesterday, and it was Ernie who felt that he needed to go public with it by accosting me at Knott's. He opened the door and I for one am not going to aid in closing it. sorry he made his bed, he can now lay in it. we tried to resolve it peacefully yesterday but Ernie and his gang of morons didn't want anything of it, they wanted to fight pure and simple. the negative falls on them now.

I tried to defuse the situation in the first thread several times and the guys around here don't take kindly to people talking shit about us on our own forums. I have said my peace and posted some pretty funny shit too, this will be my last post on the matter.

I kinda just distanced myself from it. The several times I've chatted with Ernie, he's seemed like a decent guy.

That being said, he kept trying to recruit me for his club, and one of the first comments he made to me when I set up a cruise was, "Stay away from SCS; they make comments all the time that they can get our girls and stuff like that." After I attended the BBQ at Santee Lakes, I see most of the people here are just regular Joes like myself and have their own wife/gf/significant other (I know there's at least one of you that has a thing for Titan, so hey, you can't be out after girls! :laugh2:), and most of the things that you guys say are just the typical guy bullshitting, with no harm/no foul meant.

that is a good way of putting what our club is about, a lot of people that sign on and are new, or have sticks up their butt, dont get it. were all nice guys who just like to give each other a little shit (in good fun) from time to time.
