The bottom line is this folks.

The only two people guilty of anything regarding SW are Ed Gomez and Jesus Gurolla (sp). They ran the show, took the money and both of em ran. Both are up for various civil and criminal proceedings and neither will be doing business in the custom or repair automotive world in socal again.

Richard, there are some people around that are so overzealously happy about this situation that they are looking for affirmation from you and all the other doubters when you (and they) were told over a year ago, "stay away from Ed, he's a crook" and now the proof is in the pudding.

I honestly don't care and don't have the time to go around saying "I told you so" as sometimes you just have to let people figure stuff out for themselves.
I knew firsthand as I was visited by the lead detective over ten months ago (to which OGbatman (Mason)) can attest to as he was sitting in my office when the guy walked in.

This detective told me what is up and that there is a case being built but I was stuck between a rock and a hard place after the reception I recieved on the boards the last time I tried to warn people of Ed.
I spread the word to those I could trust and could keep their ears open for anyone getting shafted. Unfortunately due to that a couple of people got burned in the process and for that I am sad, but some of these people have been doing business with Ed for quite some time and just had to figure out for themselves that if it walks like a burned out, coke snorting, weed dealing, insurance defrauding, anger management issues having, compulsively lying, credit using duck and talks like a burned out, coke snorting, weed dealing, insurance defrauding, anger management issues having, compulsively lying, credit using duck

And now, even after past instances and repeated warnings you STILL went back to him because he sang the right song and said the magic two words: payment plan.
So after all is said and done, I still have a feeling that you would forgive and forget, even after you spent a day with Dawson whom undoubtedly told you how badly Ed fucked him and go back to Ed if he says the right words again.

Apparantly Ed does not share your loyalty as although he might have been out of the state the actions that resulted in the last weeks events started WAY before he left and it is clear from all parties that he was involved COMPLETELY.

for the record, ed ALWAYS hung by his word for me and my maverick project. He did what I asked, and it got done.

It was slow moving due to my fault. I didn't push to get it done, as I wasn't ready for the car yet.

I spoke with ed on the phone just two weeks ago, and we were mapping out what to finish on my car. He had every intent of finishing it.

Now whether or not ed was a crook?? perhaps, perhaps not. Whatever. I got my car 85% done, and I guess I should just be happy with that.

It's kind of in pieces....all the trim and shit never got re chromed and put back together, but I'll deal with that.

Jeremy, I am happy to hear that your story ended with at least an acceptable level of success.

Ed would not have been able to tow the line as long as he has if all he did was screw people.
What I am trying to say is that for the most part Ed probably didn't set out to screw his customers, but at the end of the day, Ed looked out for Ed and Ed alone.

For your ONE car that Ed took from Stangwerks (which btw, you and I both know didn't start anywhere near the 10k figure) I inherited 3 that I get to finish for not only no profit, but COMPLETELY sticking to the original estimate of which I or my new company has never and will never see a dime.

Now I am not looking for a pat on the back. That is not the reason for the comparison.

The reason I even raise that comparison is because I committed to forgo profits from my company and do what is necessary to pay for those customers that suffered from Stangwerks while Ed made sure that first Jesus and David and then when they ran out of money, Dawson came in and paid for the finishing of your car and many others.

All in all (and I don't think this point has been made) This Jesus character, before Ed even left Rancho Cucamonga, tossed a QUARTER OF A MILLION towards Ed's Stangwerks. Did Ed finish your or any other car then when he was well financed??? No. He paid off his debts, finished his personal cars and then told his new investors that "they" are out of money.

I was thinking the same thing, along with HP Performance, Hennessey, etc. etc.

A VERY IMPORTANT note to those who are buying this stuff, as I was thinking about it too. How do you really know that these cars/motors actually belong to the shop, and aren't a customers project that they just appropriated? I would feel real bad getting a nice motor for next to nothing, on the blood and sweat of a fellow stanger. This happened a while ago on SVTP w/ a Termi motor, and the guy did the right thing so, among other things, he avoided receiving stolen property if anything ever came up.

As for the cars especially, a bill of sale doesn't mean shit when you try to register it if it belongs to somebody else (customer, or ed, jesus, whatever). If the car really belongs to them and you get a bill of sale from someone else, than you do NOT own that car, plan and simple.

Sounds like Dawson is a standup guy for taking care of business when he really doesn't have to in the first place, but I would still do my homework to avoid taking another stanger's money/parts/car.

All I am saying is I remember your original estimate and what it ballooned to once Ed "did his thing".
If you have time, come down to the shop, we have two classic mustangs and a Chevelle that we are working on. That should give you a good idea of what turnaround time and cost/value is. Granted, yours needed a lot of work, but Eddy preyed on the fact that he could hit you up for money whenever he needed it and that you would never complain about your car sitting for months on end with nothing being done to it.
In that aspect, you were one of his favorite customers.

And just a word of recommendation Jeremy. If you are going to take cues or info on the shop, do so from Dawson. He is the owner, he is the moneyman that was defrauded and he is the only one that knows the true fate of what is to come of SW, but I can tell you this much, from my conversations with him, once he is done, there won't be any type of painting, bodywork or collisionwork done at that facility.
He has bigger fish to fry.

Also Linda shall be talking to Dawson on your behalf regarding the financials of the matter.
I got most all the info I need in regards to what parts and what operations are still necessary on the car. For the most part, I don't think it should take more than about one and a half to two weeks to get her back up and running once we got her.

Just gotta get the go-ahead from Dawson. I don't know whether he wants to supply the missing parts or he wants us to get em, but so far so good.

And Robby, that was a really stand up thing you did in lettin Justin keep the rear end. I am sure he is grateful. The poor kid is out almost 20k with no car to drive. What a mess.

during this time he never EVER hit me up for another dime. he did do some extras too for free, like paint another hood, etc. (and agree to paint all my maverick grabber tail fin stuff, which I never dropped off...)

-16 hours quoted for the front left and right fenders. WTF?? there was nothing wrong with the fenders other than typical light body work IF that.

-16 hours for the doors too. Again, wtf??

However, he did quote me 32 hours for the 1/4's which were rusted to hell and back..maybe that was high, maybe not..but they did require a ton of work.

He quoted me 10 hours too for the repair of a back panel, which would have costed me $30 in a junkyard, but that's not the point, as I guess I could have gotten him that panel.

Hmm. Intersting, About 2 months ago I was looking through some old Stangwerks papers and I found an estimate for your car at just above 7k. I guess that must have been an early estimate.
