how long is the tour? the reason I ask is becuase Surfside Stangs was planning a cruise to the LA area and hang out for lunch around 1pm, but that is still tentative, maybe we could combine the 2 and get an awesome turnout and you guys can join us for lunch if you are interested and if you dont mind a few of us can possibly join you for the tour, is there a limit?

DarkSoul
08-04-2005, 01:19 PM
I need to ride along with someone on this one. I need to pick up a car down the street from there. Its like couple blocks before P.A.M. on Fairfax. :help:

The tour is a total of 2 hours, 1 hour guided tour and 1 hour on our own. Then apparantly we have to go to let the next group in if they have the next slot booked. The limit for people on the tour is 70 people.

I have updated the first post with more info... everyone please read

well if you guys are interested here is what I was thinking would be cool, if you dont mind we have about 7 people so far that would be interested in joining you at the museum, and we could probably do a cruise up that will be fun and then afterwards if you would like to join us for a short cruise over to this place called the Galley for lunch we would love to have you, I figure by that time everyone will be starving and we can make a day out of the whole thing and the more the merrier is what I was thinking, apparently the Galley is a great place to eat and will be closing forever soon, if you guys are interested please let me know and we can arrange to have enough parking spots reserved at the Galley, I am not trying to hijack your event in anyway I just think this would be very cool to combine the two, what do you think?

We should definetly make some meet up spots.

I don't know who else is in The OC, but a good spot here would be Jeffrey Rd. off the 5 fwy in Irvine. There is a Park-n-Ride on the southbound side of the freeway, right by the onramp, plenty of spots for cars.

If I am the only South OC person, then I'm totally willing to wait until the convoy rolls through. Just have someone call me when you get to Mission Viejo. I'll be waiting nearby.

the surfside stangs OC group is meeting up at the Sizzler right at the 55/5 fwys in Tustin. I believe this is the address.... 14042 Newport Ave, Tustin CA.

so SD people are meeting at the park and ride on La Costa Ave. off the 5?

what time?

and what time should they be in OC?

Two meet spots as far as I'm concerned.

I just posted in the other thread that we had one late add....

Rebel73 (Robert)-05 Black GT (imagine that),

so I guess that knocks the slacker availability down to 9.

and I am not familiar with the (exit 59) REST AREA (Aliso Creek) off the 5, and I was just wondering what time we are expected to get to the next stop at the Sizzler at the 55/5 fwys at 14042 Newport Ave, Tustin so I can let everyone know what time to be there. I dont know the distance between the two? and the Aliso Creek stop will be at 10am? Are we getting off the freeway at each stop?

Stop The Madness!! It's EXIT #59, how hard is that? They're all marked, here's a list in case we still can't get it.....

BTW we should get to Tustin between 10:30-10:45 depending on traffic

Sorry Sheesh, I told you I wasnt familiar with the exit so I was just asking, sorry I dont have the freeway exit numbers memorized. Thanks for the info though. and sorry about this one too, but Turn2 from SSM just now told us that his GF and his daughter are coming along so thats another +2 and the list is now down 7 open spots for slackers.

RED FLAG!!!!!

If you guys get to Tustin as late as 10:45, there is NO WAY we are making it to Wilshire Blvd. by 11:20.

I think it's time to rethink the travel and meet times.

I was thinking the same thing, I think if we just bump everything up 15 minutes and start at La Costa at 9am (departure) then everything will run smoothly and give plenty of time for stragglers....

also I was going over your list and I notice some needed updates, I just want to make sure we have room for everyone and no one is left out by mistake and we dont over book.....

and I believe that puts us at 40 people including the kids....sounds like fun times, lunch is being again switched for convenience (both proximatey and parking) to a Shakeys near the museum. Hows that sound to everyone. And just so you know I am not organizing the lunch thing (or any of the SSM part for that matter) Tonya is over on the TMS forum, I am just the middle man on the info, so sorry about any confusion.

OK then, we'l leave the Oceanside Rest Stop at 9:30, Tustin is only 40 miles away so that should put us there at about 10ish, sound good?

I think that would be a lot better. There are three major traffic areas on this whole trip for you guys: Encinitas, the Dana Point and the worst, the 10 Fwy. I'm figuring an hour (give or take) to get from Tustin to the museum.

I jumped ship from the 49ers when I moved to socal (plus they suck now) I have been a Charger fan through good and bad seasons for the past 4 years.

OK so we'll be headed to OC no later than 9:30, you La Costa guys head up to Oceanside no later than 9:10ish. This is going to be a fun trip, oh and I'm down for Pizza afterwards too, doesn't matter where. If Shakeys is close, then Shakeys it is :flag:

oh noooo!!!! you abandoned the 49ers, I am a die hard niner fan even though they are sucking for the first time in a long, long, long time. They will get better, mark my words, they will win another Superbowl before the Chargers win their first one, but its good to hear you stick by them even when they suck. not too many people can say that.

UPDATE

The list is updated and we are at 43 people (+kids).
The maximum amout we can have for the guided tour is 45 people.
That leaves 2 spots open, and those will be open for SCS members first, so if you want to go on the tour you need to let me know now.

We CAN have more people, but anymore than 45 people will not get to go on the guided tour. So anyone is welcome to join last minute but will be on your own for the first hour when the people on the list are on the tour. I'm not sure how the tour works, but that is what they told me. If anyone drops out, those spots will be available =)

Hey folks!!

First I wanted to thank SoCalStangs for letting us tag along on thier trip to the Museum, we are all pretty stoked about it!

I wanted to let everyone know that we will be having a meeting place in Huntington Beach (If any of you are from here) at Starbucks, at Yorktown and GoldenWest. Then we are going to the Sizzler on Newport, at the 55/5 fwys. RRobello posted the address to that, and we are planning on being at the Tustin spot by no later than 10:00am.

The Galley went out the window, RRobello figured a 20 minute trip was going to be difficult to wrangle, so we changed it to the Shakeys, REALLY close to the museum. We would love to have SoCalStangs join us there! I spoke with the manager and I have room set aside for 40-45 people. I will be leaving the museum a touch early, to start getting parking spots at Shakeys. They wont hold spots for us, and I didnt want to change the location yet another time.

Please feel free to email me... JessicaRabbitt@SurfSideMustangs.com

Those meeting at the OC spots, email me, and we can exchange cell numbers.

Thanks, and look forward to seeing you all there!!!
