Sept. 24th Mossy Ford Cruise for Katrina

on Sept. 24th theres going to be a cruise for the victims of hurrican katrina. its 20 bucks to get involved,all payment must be checks made out to Red Cross so we know where our money is going to. I think it starts at West Hills high school in Santee, and will stop by a few dealerships and JBA before ending up at some park in Lakeside. I'll try and get more details but lets get a list of people going:

Teris organizing it I believe, here are the details I have...

All proceeds go directly to the Red Cross in assisting the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Local Businesses will donate products, services, gift certificates, and gifts to be raffled to participants.

Meet between 8am-9am at West Hills School in Santee
Entry to participate is a $20 donation (make checks payable to "The Red Cross")

Around 9:15 we will then proceed to the different business' that were kind enough to participate through donating with a variety of gifts to raffle, ending at Lindo Park in Lakeside with a group photo and BBQ.

Raffle tickets will be 7 for $5, 15 for $10, 35 for $20, and 80 for $50

Mossy Ford. This is the first fundraiser I've ever put together, anyone w/some experience willing to give me a hand? Please let me know. I do need to find someone willing to go to the lake early to hold us a good spot,any volunteers? Also, the BBQ following the run will not be using any of the funds raised for Katrina, anyone able to make contributions to food utensils,etc...please call me!

OK, to participate you need to make a MINIMUM donation of $20 in check form to the Red Cross. Also, keep in mind all the "killer" prizes to be raffled off.

Teri, just an idea.........

Find a Katrina friendly pizza place to end the cruise at.

After paying for the food, location, and other stuff for the Poker Run this year I decided that will be next years plan. Just get in touch with a pizza place with a large back room and big parking lot, that way no one has to cook and everyone can buy their own food.

Let me know if you need help finding a place, I can help set that part up for you if you are interested in doing it that way.

hey Teri let me know what I can do to help, how many people have you got coming? and all Mustangs? or has it spread to others yet? I know I have some guys I know with the Ferrari club that were interested, and I was originally thinking about going to Carlsbad meet to recruit some more people to head down to meet everyone at the park after the cruise (since we wont be making it in time for the cruise) but now I am thinking I really want to be part of the cruise if its going to be that big. Hey is the donation for the cruise part, all of it or what? Just asking in case I do go to Carlsbad meet to recruit people I want to know what to tell them, I dont see too many of those people objecting to helping out with a donation but I just want to let them know the facts.

Hey Teri for food, you should be contacting local places either resturants or even the grocery stores and seeing if they will donate food to the cause so it doesnt take away from the money raised, I know it sounds wierd to ask a grocery store to donate groceries but they do it, my mom has them donate stuff all the time for her events I think it helps being a chick.
