Hey all,
Just thought I'd let all of you that were planning on attending Mustangs by the Bay 2010 know that the official sponsor this year is none other than that hack shop HCM! Everyone that I know that was planning on attending is boycotting it this year, including those that already paid. Fuck Ernie and fuck his MBTB sponsorship! It would be great if anly a very small handful of cars showed up this year.

Where is that listed at?

Even if 100 cars didn't show up it would only matter if those 100 cars made it known to "those who matter". Get the email of that person and have everyone voice their opinion and next year they wont take their "chop shop" money. :hands: -Shane

It's right on the sd mustangs website.

why are you boycotting the show? I dont like how HCM is the sponsor but they have paid unlike a certain SD shop that starts with a J hasnt paid for last year :look: However boycotting the show hurts the MCSD and makes it hard to keep the location for the next coming years, which is arguably the best location for a car show in SD. Boycott HCM all you want, but please dont boycott the show.

and no it would not be great if only a handful of cars showed up, this isnt ernies show it is the mustang clubs show

Don't worry Nick, I'll be there for you to guide me to my parking spot. I can care less who sponsors the show. I'm there to look at other cars and hang out with my friends.

lol I tried to get people to not accept money from HCM, but people are too nice to say no to $1000 i guess, after years of sponsors trying to pay late or not at all. Regardless I still think its stupid to boycott a show because of who is sponsoring it, or because some cars show up that you dont like the looks of when 99.9% of the rest are great

ok before I go off and start being annoying...

Where is this info listed? I've looked all over the SD Mustangs website and dont see ANY listing of sponsors. Hell, its hard enough to find the registration form for the show.

So moving on...I'm in the SD Mustang Club and attend the meetings (I am not however an officer or on the board, so I am speaking for me, not the club).

HCM has offered to be ONE of the sponsors...ONE of them...there will be several. There is no such thing as and "exclusive" or "official" sponsor. There are 3 levels that get you different space at the show depending on what you pay. Thats it.

If you choose to keep yourself away from a really nice show at a premium location becuase a couple of dorks will be there, then you should probably consider just staying at home in your own room 99% of your life.

However if you really wanted to do some good in this world, you would show up and make a point to vote for all the non-lambo related cars that encompass the entire range of mustangs since the beginning.

Beyond that, part of the money generated will go to charity as well.

Trust me...I dont like any of the douchbaggery I've heard attributed to Ernie or HCM any more than anyone else. But boycotting a good show run by decent folks for a good cause is not the way to make a point.

I say we not only express our distaste of them being a sponsor but if SDMC really needs that grand then lets just all chip in a few bucks to cover the cost and have them not show. Theres gotta be over 100 people that hate Ernie enough to make it $10 or less a person right? Or better yet, if SDMC is willing to do so, why not take that sponsor spot and advertise how bad HCM to warn the rest of the Mustang community?

Thanks for clearing that up TDS-03!!

If HCM or whatever they call themselves now, had been the only Sponsor then we were having second thoughts.

We plan on attending and bringing both B's

a good way to make a point would be to not let them be a sponsor or attend the show.

any show those guys are at just degrades the whole thing.

I find it hilarious all the members/past members that have emailed me stating their distaste for all the crap they go through over Ernie and his dealings. I'm sure at this point he has more of a gang than a Mustang Club.

Thing to remember with this show is that they are doing all this for charity. All the spnsor money, or what's left after the rental and all the other things goes directly to a charity. I forget who's name they put it under though. But it's a fundraiser they put on for that purpose, and use the cars to draw in the crowds. I wouldn't worry too much about it. I think this is the first year they have given any money. There have been more people than the one hinted here earlier that didn't pay and have sponsored the show. My only recommendation to them was pre-pay or no sponsorship. I think they did a much better job of that this year with that it seems.

If you don't go to this show simply because you don't agree with one other sponsors then it sucks to be you.

I'll be there. Just not sure which car I'll be bringing though. Maybe the 84 SVO. It is the best Mustang show in San Diego all year.
